Our Initial Sound Activity / Beginning Sound Phonics Game is the perfect hands-on resource to explore and consolidate initial sounds in words. These clip cards are engaging for students and low prep for the teacher.

Use these cards in reading groups or class lessons to help students work on identifying the initial sounds in words.

To indicate their answer, students can use a:

• Counter
• Rolled up playdough
• Lego piece etc

Every letter of the alphabet has 3 cards each (excluding o) and q is recorded as ‘qu’ because it is both letters that create the sound.
